Daily Daisy: Hair Care, Trends & Tips

22nd Annual Coastal Cleanup Day is this Saturday

Posted on 14 September 2011 in Daily Daisy by Daisy

Over 90 countries around the world take part in this annual beach and waterway clean up, making it one of the largest volunteer efforts on the planet, according to Heal The Bay. California Coastal Cleanup Day is coordinated in Los Angeles County by Santa Monica-based Heal the Bay in conjunction with the California Coastal Commission and the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors. For the seventh consecutive year the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission will host the only kayak clean-up site in Los Angeles County. The kayak site is unique that the commission provides kayaks and small nets for volunteers to use to pick up ocean debris. I’m happy to say that one of those kayaks are reserved for me. Thousands of Los Angeles residents are anticipated to join this global clean up effort from more than 60 coastal and inland sites across LA county. For registration for the coastal clean up: www.santamonicabay.org or for volunteers of all ages: http://healthebayccd.eventbrite.com.
