Do’s and Don’ts for Healthy Hair
Here are a few things to keep in mind for hair health from purely daily handling view point..Treat your hair gently when the strands are moist, like right out of the shower. When is wet, it is more fragile and has to ability to stretch. When it dries, it will spring back, therefore if you have pulled it into a bun or braid, etc. the hair may break as it dries. Also, combing hair from the bottom up with a wide tooth comb will untangle hair as you comb up the strands so the knots won’t accumulate in one spot. Use gentle hair bands and clips, not metal ones from your office (like one client did, her hair looked like it was chewed on by a small animal.) Lastly, avoid a tight pony tail because if this is done too often one can cause a receding hairline, traction alopecia. This is root damage cause by long-term tension that can lead to permanent hair loss. Gals with lots of hair often complain of headaches by pony tails and this I have experienced myself in my pre-stylist days.
